TOTAL WAVEFORM ADAPTIVE DIGITAL SYSTEM

3D render of the TWI chip: two stacked black boards with copper contacts along the edge, a hexagonal copper figure on top, and eight sealed drops under a clear glass lid

TWI CHIP

A 12-pin module that stores a proprietary composite waveform as encrypted data and outputs it two ways: as an analogue voltage on a copper figure, and as a standard I²S digital stream.

01 · OVERVIEW

ONE PART. ANY DEVICE.

A secure controller holds the waveform as encrypted, read-out-locked data, together with the algorithm that plays it out. Its own crystal sets the timing, so the host only supplies power and a WAKE signal. The host then takes the waveform from the copper contacts, the digital stream, or both, and carries it on through sound, light, a field, vibration or copper. Every output can be measured with standard instruments.

TWI-12-A

TWI CHIP

The copper figure sits under a clear glass plate, with eight drops of soft silicone gel resting on its eight copper lands.

  • Socketed, or soldered by hand, wave or selective
  • Never reflowed
  • Operating 0 to 60 °C (est.)
  • About 2.6 g; 6.26 mm above the seating plane

TWI-12-S

TWI CHIP S

No gel, frame or glass: the copper figure is open on the top face under a thin clear conformal coat. Every step of its making is a standard assembly step.

  • Socketed, or soldered by hand, wave, selective or pin-in-paste reflow
  • MSL 3 (est.)
  • Operating −25 to 85 °C (est.)
  • About 2.2 g; 5.58 mm to the pin tails

03 · HOW IT WORKS

HELD AS DATA. GIVEN OUT TWO WAYS.

The same waveform leaves on both outputs. A converter on the chip turns the stream’s own 24-bit words into the voltage on the copper figure, sample for sample.

INSIDE

SECURE CONTROLLER

Arm Cortex-M33 with TrustZone and 2 MB of its own memory. Waveform and algorithm stored encrypted, read-out locked. Timed by its own crystal.

→ CU1 · CU2
The waveform as a voltage On the copper figure, through 1.00 kΩ ±1 %, with static protection. About ±2.9 V around ground (est.). Read either contact against GND, or join it to the host’s own copper.
→ BCLK · WS · SD
The waveform as a stream Standard I²S, the chip leading: 24-bit words in 32-bit slots, two channels carrying the same waveform. Feeds an I²S amplifier or the host’s own controller.
↔ SDA · SCL
Identity and verification I²C: serial number, program version and state. The chip signs a challenge with its own key, so a host can confirm the chip is genuine and that the stream it received came from that chip.
ON THE BENCH On a carrier board with a 2.54 mm pin row, driving a speaker, piezo or coil through an I²S amplifier.
IN A WEARABLE Soldered beside the device’s own amplifier and battery, its copper joined at CU1 · CU2.
IN A LARGER DEVICE On the device’s main board, its output carried to a sheet, a chamber or a room.

04 · PINOUT

TWELVE PINS. TWO ROWS.

2.54 mm pitch, rows 17.78 mm apart. Pin 1 at the cut corner. Static protection on every pin (2 kV HBM, est.).
